How can I tell if the cylinder is filled with argon?

After argon gas delivery, people like to shake the gas cylinder to see if it is full, although argon belongs to the inert gas, non-flammable and non-explosive, but this method of shaking is not desirable. To know whether the cylinder is full of argon gas, you can check in accordance with the following methods.

1. Check the gas cylinder
To check the labeling and marking on the gas cylinder. If the label is clearly marked as argon, it means that the cylinder is filled with argon. In addition, if the cylinder you buy also comes with an inspection certificate, then you can be sure that the cylinder has been filled with argon in accordance with the relevant standards.

2. Use of gas tester
A gas tester is a small, portable device that can be used to measure the composition and content of a gas. If you need to check whether the composition of the gas in the cylinder is correct, you can connect the gas tester to the cylinder for testing. If the gas composition contains enough argon, it will ensure that the cylinder has been filled with argon.

3. Check the piping connections
You need to check whether the connection of the argon gas pipeline is unobstructed or not, you can observe the situation of gas flow to judge. If the gas flow is smooth, and the color and taste of argon gas is as expected, then it means that the argon gas has been filled.

4. Trial of welding

If you are carrying out argon gas shielded welding, you can test by using welding tools. If the welding quality is good and the appearance of the weld is flat and smooth, then you can confirm that the argon gas in the cylinder has been sufficient.

5. Check the pressure pointer

Of course, the easiest way to do this is for you to simply look at the pressure pointer on the cylinder valve to see if it is pointing to maximum. Pointing to the maximum value means full.

In short, the above methods can help you determine whether the gas cylinder is filled with enough argon gas to ensure safety and accuracy.
